Establishing a snoezelen – controlled multisensory environment (MSE) – at Ma’on Vered.
Ma’on Vered is an educational framework for developmentally delayed children with a mild, moderate or severe delay, ages 0-8. The children’s impairments stem from a variety of reasons: cerebral palsy, cortical blindness, Down syndrome, genetic disorders, injuries during birth and more.
Treatment for the children is based on multidisciplinary-educational, medical and paramedical methods.
One of the tools currently lacking at the day care center is a snoezelen. This is a room that is meant to enrich the child’s sensory world by stimulating all of his or her senses.
Turning one of the rooms at the day care center into a snoezelen – with all the equipment that requires – costs about NIS 50,000.
