Olympic and Academic Excellence is a project that will include children on the edge of the continuum in the spheres of Olympic excellence, with an orientation for excellence and achievement in both sports and scholastics. Top coaches and teachers will provide the most professional solution possible, with the goal of breaking through the glass ceiling for those born in the social periphery and whose socioeconomic situation does not enable them to take part in professional sports in Israel and to succeed in their studies.
The more successes the children experience in sports, the more their sense of their own capability is increased, which then impacts the other areas of their lives. These include improvement in their grades in core subjects at school, preventing dropping out from informal frameworks, assuming responsibility and positions in various frameworks, and a significant decrease in risky behaviors.
