#31

Noar (Youth) Net is a social venture for repairing used computers and providing them to needy families.

This lab project is a unique social environmental venture that is run by teens and volunteers at the Youth and Young Adult Division’s youth center.

Through the project, we collect dozens of used computers annually, both from commercial companies and from private individuals.

The teens repair and refurbish the computers, and at the end of the process donate them to families who need them.

The social laboratory has three circles of influence:
1. The first is for the youth who, through repairing a computer and donating it, learn a valuable life skill and experience what it means to contribute to the community.

2. The second is for the hundreds of families who receive a computer for their home, which serves as a tool for the children to do their homework.

3. The third is for the environment, through reuse and by reducing the amount of electronic waste in Israel.

We need your contribution to purchase new parts, circuits, cables and software licenses. In this case, a small amount of money makes a big difference in the lives of both the teens doing the work and of the families who receive a computer in good working order, which itself was also donated. The project is run in cooperation with the Welfare and Youth Administration.
