During the Iron Swords War, Rishon LeZion lost 77 victims, many of them young men and women, both in the war and in the Nova festival massacre. In an operation with the Lions of Zion, the city suffered direct missile strikes; entire streets were damaged, 541 residents were evacuated from their homes, and thousands had no nearby protected space. Almost two years after the outbreak of the Iron Swords War, more than 10,000 young reserve soldiers have returned from the battlefields, and many are grappling with post-traumatic stress, loss, and uncertainty about the future.
