#24

Sara and Hillel Namvar House, a home for discharged soldiers, is a unique project of the Rishon LeZion Foundation.

The Discharged Soldiers Home serves as a residence for discharged male and female IDF combat soldiers, most of them residents of Rishon LeZion. The home comprises 120 apartments with 200 discharged servicemen and women, who pay a low rent. The project aims to provide an opportunity for an easy and simple exit from the military for these soldiers, who made a significant and meaningful contribution to the State of Israel’s security, and a smooth entry into independent civilian life, as they embark on studies and work. Namvar House is located close to the College of Administration in the western part of the city.

The Rishon LeZion Municipality, which views enlisting for military service as a supreme value, allotted the area on which the home was built, and the Namvar family of Los Angeles donated NIS 25 million to get the project up and running.

In order to expand the project and to build additional apartments on the property that will serve other discharged soldiers, we are seeking further contributions. Interested? Please contact us for additional details.
